Watch: “Tea With Oliver”A fun story about making new friends!

Conversation Starters: What does it mean to be a friend? What happens when you try to talk to someone and they aren’t paying attention? What can you to do get someone’s attention if you want to talk with them? What feelings do you see the cat have in the story? What feelings do you see the mouse have in the story?

Conversation Starters: What is the name of the book? What animals do you see in the book? What are they doing?

Pretend

Pretend that you are having a tea party.

Design and create an invitation.

Leveled learning extenion: Have your child tell you who they would invite. Write the list for them and count the number of people on the list together.

Leveled learning extension: Make a stack of “invitations” and hand them to your child. Have your child hand them back to you one at a time and count out loud each invitation they hand you.

Make A Paper Airplane

Watch “How to Make a Paper Airplane”

Read “Step by step” to folding a paper airplane step by step visual to follow after the video

Leveled Learning Extension: let your child decorate the airplane you make with crayons, markers, or stickers.

Measure

Measure how far your paper airplane can fly.

Measurement concept: longer and shorter. Throw two airplanes. Which one flew a longer distance? Which one flew a shorter distance? How do you know?

Leveled Learning Extension: Make the paper airplane for your child and take turns throwing the airplaine. Describe what you notice to your child such as “Wow that time the airplane really flew far!” or “Oops that time the airplane fell straight to the ground!”
