Firefighters

Talk with your child about the different things a firefighter does and what they use to fight fires. Check out the Firefighter word wall to see some ideas.

911

What are the three important numbers for safety: 911. It is a great idea to teach your child that in an emergency they should call 911. Talk about what an emergency is and when they should call 911.

Show your child on the phone where the numbers are located.

Fire Safety

Fire can be very scary. Talk to your child about fire safety. Things are not as scary if you are prepared and have a plan. Together make a fire escape plan. Practice your fire escape plan so that everyone knows what to do in case of fire. Check out the fire safety tips in the link.

Fire Truck Song

Listen to the Fire Truck Song. Can you think of some motions that could go along with the song? Practice Stop Drop And Roll. First stop, cover your face, drop to the floor, and roll.
